Michal Yanai
Michal Yanai-Moskal (born 18 June 1972 in Ramat Gan) is an Israeli actress, singer, TV host and children's star - often called "Queen of the Kids" for her 1990s peak on Arutz HaYeladim and in kids' musicals. She studied theatre at Thelma Yellin and Beit Zvi; as a child she appeared at the Children's Song Festival (1983) and hosted birthday parties with guitar and games.
Her first presenting job was Kesharim Metsuyarim on Channel 1 (1989-1990), alongside the dinosaur puppet Zaurus/Zerus (Ami Weinberg), while still in high school. On Arutz HaYeladim (1991-2000) she hosted Tevat/Ginat HaHafta'ot for young kids, HaKita HaMeofefet, and the summer strip Kadur Pore'ach. In 1995-1996 she headlined Telad's Saturday-morning flagship HaKarnaval Shel Michal on Channel 2 (ratings around 14%-15%); after franchise day swaps she continued with the same characters as Katzefet on Arutz HaYeladim (1997-1998) - a meta frame she likened to a kids' Larry Sanders Show.
She won the Festigal twice (1993: "Shalom Hi Mila Shimushit"; 1995: "Ledaber Im Hayot") and returned in later years. She voiced Faline in the Hebrew Bambi dub, recorded a Hebrew Disney medley, and starred in kids' musicals such as The Wizard! (Dorothy), Peter Pan (Wendy) and King Arthur (Guinevere). On HaShminiya she guest-starred as Tamar Zehavi; she later created and produced Michal Yanai in the Dream Room for preschoolers.
