Plot
Set in the American South while slavery was still practiced, the series follows the independent, adventurous boy Huckleberry «Huck» Finn, who lives in a town on the Mississippi River.
After helping capture a group of criminals, the Widow Douglas takes him in and tries to give him a home, schooling and an orderly life.
Huck struggles with school, manners and the discipline Miss Jane Watson tries to teach him.
His life changes when his father, Sam Finn, returns, takes him from the widow's house and holds him in an isolated cabin.
Huck escapes, fakes his death to stop the search, and hides on Jackson's Island, where he meets Jim, who fled after learning Jane Watson planned to sell him. Together they travel the Mississippi by raft, hoping to reach Illinois, facing storms, wrecks, feuds, criminals and con men, with the squirrel Lily accompanying them for much of the journey as their friendship deepens.
