Koach Ji (Battle of the Planets) is Sandy Frank's Western adaptation of Tatsunoko's Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (1972). It entered US syndication in 1978 and aired in Israel on Channel 1 in the early 1980s.
G-Force - Mark, Jason, Princess, Keyop and Tiny - protect Earth from Spectra aboard the Phoenix.
The adaptation rode the Star Wars boom - which is why the old archive slug was "starwars," unrelated to the Lucas franchise.
Plot
G-Force protects Earth from Spectra aboard the Phoenix.
The Western cut softens Gatchaman violence and reframes the show as space adventure.
